Comparing Conventional Medicine to Natural Medicine

Dr. Christopher taught his patients how to eat right and use herbs to in order to be healthy. I love that there is so much information about eating right and using natural medicine on the internet. Dissolving Kidney Stones and Gall Stones

    Western Botanicals  Stone Dissolve Tea has been a big seller and works great to dissolve all kinds of stones in the body. People will contact me complaining that it didn’t work, and in asking them about how they took it, most often they didn’t follow the program. No surprise here, but you have to take it more than one day for it to work, even for many weeks or months depending on the severity of the problem.

    Stone Dissolve Tea is famous for its action as a dissolvent for calculi (stones). Used as directed it will dissolve stones in the kidneys and entire urinary tract. It will also assist in the removal of gall bladder stones. It sis soothing to inflamed tissue and assists smooth and painless release of the stones. The success of this herbal routine has been documented with pre and post x-rays and has helped many avoid surgery.

Suggested Use:

Day 1: place 4 tablespoons of dry herbs into two 32 oz. glass containers and fill with pure, unfiltered apple juice. Cover and allow to sit overnight refrigerated. The next morning heat one container of liquid to a boil, leaving the second container refrigerated. Allow heated tea to cool, strain and then drink the entire quart throughout the day, along with an additional 32 oz. of purified water throughout the day.

Day 2-3: Bring 2nd quart of liquid to a boil, allow to cool and strain. Consume over the next two days, (16 oz. each day) drinking an additional 32 oz of fresh, unfiltered apple juice on these two days.

Day 4: Do a juice fast by consuming 64 oz. of fresh juice (your choice) and 64 oz. of pure water. Do not eat any foods on this day, only consume the juice and water.

Repeat this program at one week intervals until stones are gone. If pain from stones increases or is prolonged, consultation with a competent healthcare professional is advised.

    We have a close family member who was suffering from Gall Stones and was in immense pain. Surgery was not an option and she called asking for help. How Long Do Herbs Last?

    I had a customer call to order some Western Botanicals Colon Cleanse because she just used the last capsule from the bottle that she bought 15 years ago. She stated that the last capsule worked as well as the first capsule did when she had bought them fifteen years ago! I have had people ask if their capsulized herbs were still good after the expiration date and I always said yes, and that I wouldn’t hesitate to use capsulized herbs that were ten years old. Now we know that they are even good after 15 years and I would say beyond that!

    How can the herbs be good after that long? Oxidation is what makes the herbs lose potency. Since they are encapsulated there is very little oxygen present to allow the herbs to oxidize. Capsulized herbs are a good way to store herbs for times of need. I always have a variety of formulas on hand because you want to have them when you need them! So hold on to those out dated bottles, they are still good!

    Herbal extracts that are in an alcohol base also have a much longer shelf life beyond what the label says. This is true as long as it is in alcohol based and stored under good circumstances such as in a cool basement, or in a home cupboard without huge fluctuations in temperature.

   Herbal extracts in glycerine have a much shorter shelf life. I have used them a year or two after the date, but not much more than that. Ointments have a two year life if refrigerated. They are oils and oils go rancid, so be sure to refrigerate them if it isn’t something that you can use up fairly quickly.

    Bulk herbs will lose potency over time. It is best to know how you are going to use your bulk herbs and what the time frame is. Two years would be an average time to use bulk herbs at their highest potency. If you have them beyond that time I would either capsulize them or make an extract/tincture out of them.

Goldenseal Combination, my new favorite flu remedy!

    On Easter Sunday we had no indication that we were going to be sick. We went to church, had lunch with family and visited throughout the day. We headed home about 5:00 and I noticed that my husband Don’s voice sounded a bit like he was getting a cold. By the time we got home Don had to have a nap and when got up a while later he was feeling a bit worse. He took a hot bath and took Immu-Defense in hopes of burning it off, but by the time he went to bed he was feeling quite sick.

    The liver is responsible for handling most of our energy needs. It takes raw building blocks from food and breaks it down into basic nutritional components. Western Botanicals Immu-Defense Formula, are you ready for the Plague?

Herbs For Colds & Flu Season

    I had a customer call recently to say that they were sick and that the Infection Formula wasn’t working. I asked how much they were taking and they said 2 capsules a day. Two capsules of any of the following: Dr. Christopher's  Infection Formula, Immune System Formula, Western Botanicals Immune Boost Formula, Immu-Defense Formula or Goldenseal Combination would work great to boost your immune system and fight bacteria or virus if you have been exposed to sick people. A great dosage when you feel you have something coming on is at least 2 capsules three or more times a day of any of the above formulas, and I have taken them as often as every half hour when things were really bad.  Note that the Flu & Virus Formula is now called Goldenseal Combination - it is a great formula to fight both bacteria and virus bugs and is available in liquid as well as capsules.

    A few days ago I felt a little drainage at the back of the sinus before it drains into my throat.  My throat thankfully wasn't red but I could tell that things were headed the wrong way. I like to hit things hard to get rid of them fast and not let it develop into anything worse so I took 2 Infection Formula, 2 Immu-Defense capsules and 2 Immune System Formula.  I took this three times on the first day as well as the second day. On the third day it felt perfect, but to be safe I took one more dose of all three formulas. It has been quite a few days and I continue to be healthy.

Cayenne to warm you up!

    When the cold weather hit a few weeks ago I was amazed at how cold I was. My husband mentioned that he was feeling cold too and we both are chalking it up to getting older.  I started trying a few things, like wearing thermal underwear under my clothes and putting the flannel sheets on the bed, but it just wasn’t enough, I felt chilled to the bone.  I have taken Cayenne off and on but have never been consistent with it, so decided that I would see if it would make a difference.  I tried 1 capsule twice a day for a week and that didn’t help, so then I bumped it up to 2 capsules twice a day and that flipped the switch in my body.  I am astounded at the difference that something so small can do to change your body temperature.

    A few weeks ago I was listening to the Maintaining Healthy Body System’s CD’s and David Christopher told a story about his daughter being on a trip to the beach with a group of friends.  One of the girls got so cold swimming in the ocean that she was going into hyperthermia.  David’s daughter wanted to give the girl some cayenne but everyone freaked out and they headed to the hospital.  The girl insisted that she wanted to take the cayenne, so they let her. She heated up and was just fine after that. That was cheaper and quicker than a trip to the Emergency Room.
