Citrus Essential Oils prevent cancer and more!

    Citrus essential oils have been used for centuries for relief from colds and flu. These oils have also been used for cleansing, purification, digestion, skin complaints, disinfecting and so on.

    Citrus essential oils contain an interesting array of natural phytochemicals that have anti-cancer properties. Scientists have been studying the phytochemicals found in citrus essential oils for decades.

    At first it was thought that the anti-cancer activity of citrus essential oil was mainly due to the high levels of antioxidants they contained. Closer inspection found that it had mainly to do with one special phytochemical found in citrus known as limonene. There are now over 200 research studies on limonene discussing its anti-cancer benefits.

Limonene Content in Citrus Essential Oils

Grapefruit essential oil: 88-95% limonene
Lemon essential oil: 59-73% limonene
Lime essential oil: 50-60% limonene
Orange essential oil: 85-96% limonene
Tangerine essential oil: 85-93% limonene

    Put a drop or two of grapefruit, lemon, lime, orange, or tangerine essential oil into your water to encourage the elimination of wastes and toxins as well as a cancer prevention. The limonene content stimulates white blood cell production, improves the body’s ability to combat infection, and helps to detoxify the liver. *

    Feeling stressed or depressed? Just open the lid of your favorite citrus essential oil and breathe it in. Grapefruit is uplifting and helps with depression, increases self-esteem and bolsters confidence. Lemon calms nervousness. Lime is helpful for apathy, anxiety, nervousness, depression, listlessness and refreshes tired mind. Orange helps to balance the emotions, either relaxing or stimulating as needed. Tangerine refreshes and brings clarity of thought.

    My son carried around a bottle of lemon essential oil in his pocket when he was in junior high school. It was a great way for him to treat himself using something that he wouldn’t get in trouble for bringing to school. I’m sure other kids benefited every time he took it out to smell it.

    A breast cancer coach recommends: To improve breast health I recommend massaging the breasts daily using a combination of a favorite citrus essential oil with either frankincense, lavender, or sandalwood. A few drops of each mixed with a carrier oil is sufficient.*

Garden Essence Oils, affordable and easy to use!

    When I first heard about Tea Tree Oil in the 70’s it was like the miracle cure for everything. You could buy it everywhere and could use it to take care of so many problems, the big ones being infections and fungus. In the past few years we are hearing of so many people getting an infection and going into the hospital, and when they aren’t able to get things under control with medications then they end up losing their limbs. I’m pretty tired of hearing about this happening when likely if they had treated the problem at home with Tea Tree Oil, aka Melaleuca, they would be whole today.

    Sometimes I will cut my thumb when I prepare vegetables for our meals. I nicked it the other night, it bled a little bit, I washed it and kept making dinner. A few hours later after getting the dishes done it was hurting, so I put a drop of Tea Tree oil on it. It immediately stopped hurting and I put some Complete Tissue and Bone ointment on it and went to bed. In the morning it looked and felt great, I only had to trim a small piece of dried skin and it has healed just fine.

    Essential oils are affordable, have a long shelf life and are easy to use. Essential oils should always be used with a carrier oil, so a small bottle may seem expensive, but when you use only 10 drops in a 10 ml roller bottle filled with carrier oil you can see how the bottle of pure oil will last a long time. Use 30 drops in the 1 oz. roller bottles, or if you re-use the essential oil bottles, a 15 ml bottle would need 15 drops of pure oil.  More tips on using oils.

    Diffusing is a great way to use essential oils to treat the whole family. In the winter we diffuse X-Plague blend which contains oils that are very highly anti-viral and antiseptic, and smell so good too. Diffuse Orange oil when the kids come home from school. Orange is antiseptic & bactericidal which will help keep them healthy, and is also anti-depressant so I call it the happy oil, which is helpful when it is time for homework and chores.
