Natural Remedies for Food Poisoning

Essential Oils are 33% off right now. The Garden Essence Essential Oil line that we carry are the highest quality available. Compare their quality to the network marketed oils, you get the same quality at an affordable price because you aren’t paying multiple levels of people making money off of what you buy.

I consider myself a student, because there is so much to learn about how to keep our bodies healthy, and every day I learn something new.  Friends often say to me,  you are always trying to be healthy, like that is a bad thing. What is the alternative to always trying to be healthy??  That isn’t a path I want to take!  I find it better to work on being the healthiest I can be, that includes the food I eat and the herbs I ingest, and the essential oils I use, etc.

Digestion    Over the weekend I put the Digestion Blend Essential Oil to good use.  I had scallops for lunch on Sunday and a few hours later I was feeling a little off.  My whole stomach and guts just hurt!  I took some Gas-Eze and went and rubbed the Digestion Oil all over my entire abdomen.  I laid down and after about half an hour I was feeling good enough to get up and watch TV.

The next morning I woke up feeling ok, so exercised and took my herbs.  I worked on a few things and then was going to take a shower when the pain hit me in my gut again.  I decided that I had better use the Activated Charcoal to help absorb whatever poison might still be in me.  I couldn’t find any, but still had a bit in my travel kit, so took that and put the Digestion Blend all over my abdomen again.  Within 5 minutes I was feeling relieved of the pain and was able to take my shower and go on with my day. I used the Digestion Blend again as I went to bed that night and didn’t have a problem with it again.  I sure like having the right remedy when something happens!

X-Plague/Glandular combo    Another favorite essential oil blend is the X-Plague which is very useful during cold season.  I like to add it to a bottle of Glandular Massage Oil - 60 drops in the 2 oz. bottle.  We use this liberally on our neck and feet when we have been exposed to sick people or feel like we have a cold coming on.  This is a great combo and you get a lot of use out of it for the money.  The little roller bottles are wonderful for giving everyone their own supply of this blend which makes it very portable in a pocket or purse.

Natural Health is easy and affordable.  I like to learn by trying new things to see how they work on me and then I share it with others.  I am proactive when it comes to my health and the health of my family.  Having herbs and oils on hand makes it easy for me to treat just about any problem that we are faced with.

Read the last chapter of An Herbal Legacy of Courage and learn about how Dr. Christopher lost his license to practice medicine.  He did far more to help people when he began teaching people how to use the herbs to heal themselves.  His legacy lives on as we all continue to use his great formulas to help ourselves and our families.

20 different formulas all in one little bag!

travel pack of herbs
I love to travel and I am always worried before closing the suitcase if we packed everything,  mainly with having the herbs we may need! We did fine on our trip to Arizona this past week and found that we had the herbs that we needed in our handy little herb travel pack. I was concerned at one point that I didn’t have what I needed, I’ll tell you more about that later.

We have a couple of timeshares that we use to trade for places we want to visit, and it works out great because we always book a place with a full kitchen.  We like to cook our own food, that way we know what we are eating and don’t have to worry about GMO foods and other health hazards we may encounter eating out.  Out of the 23 meals we ate 22 we prepared ourselves.  I know most people look forward to not having to cook on vacation, so it must seem pretty weird, but it works for us.  I brought a few canned items to put together a few meals with, which gave us the option of eating out or not.  It surprised me that we didn’t eat out more often and I am pretty complacent about fixing meals if we are at home or away.

Activated Charcoal     Near the end of the week we were about out of the fresh food and were discussing our dinner for the evening.  I had brought the fixings for chili and the weather was a bit nippy at night, so chili sounded like the perfect meal.  When I mentioned it as an option to eating out my husband said, only if you brought something for gas!  I knew that I didn’t have any Gas-Eze in my travel pack but had some Activated Charcoal he could try. He felt good about it so we made the chili, he took the Activated Charcoal and it did it’s job, no gas!  Happy day!  Read what I put in the travel kit in at this post.

Little bottle of herbs saves a trip to the hospital

My husband and I walk around our neighborhood almost every day, and quite often we cross paths with a friend in our neighborhood who knows that we are into herbs.  Over the weekend she stopped us and asked if we had any Lower Bowel Formula on hand.  I said that we did and she said she would drop by later to pick it up.  She mentioned that her gut was in so much pain and was hoping it would help.  I’m glad she mentioned that because I didn’t think it was the Lower Bowel Formula that she needed.  She asked what it was for and I said to normalize things especially if a person were constipated.  She said she didn’t have that problem, what else did I have?  I said I thought I might have something that would help, but would have to look.  I was sure hoping that I had an unopened bottle available, since it isn’t something we need very often.

She came over and I had a bottle of Soothing Digestion which is a combo of Slippery Elm & Licorice.   She mentioned that she has high blood pressure and couldn’t have the Licorice and hoped I might have something else for her.  I went to the cupboard hoping I had something else and was able to pull out a bottle of Gas-Eze which has the Slippery Elm in it along with some other great herbs.  She was excited gave me a check and took it home.

She called me in the morning and said it was the best $12.00 she had ever spent!  She went on to say that the pain had been so bad that she was ready to go to the hospital that night. After taking the herbs she slept so well and pain free, that she even slept in.  We saw her on our walk again today and she told us that she had tried everything the doctor had prescribed as well as every over the counter medicine on the market and had been suffering with this for four years! She said we had saved her a trip to the hospital, which I was quite grateful for because good things rarely happen at the hospital!

Gastrointestinal problems are quite prevalent in our society with the abundance of convenience foods that we have available.  I have major issues any time I eat food with artificial sweeteners in them such as sorbitol, maltitol, etc.  I will have days of misery with bloating and just downright terrible gas pains.  I have learned my lesson to stay away from anything artificial anymore, it just isn’t worth it.  I also keep the formulas on hand should I mistakenly eat something that doesn’t work for my system.

Soothing Digestion    Soothing Digestion has been available in capsules for about a year and comes in a nice big 180 capsules bottle.  It is commonly used in the Candida Program and also helps with digestion, gas, and other digestive problems including leaky gut syndrome.  The Slippery Elm is so soothing and healing to the gut.  Licorice has been known to strengthen the stomach's natural lining while healing existing ulcers.  This combo has been a great one for me if I get over acidic, it works quickly to bring me back to a balanced state.  People with high blood pressure should stay away from this one, since the licorice does cause problems for some people.  This is a great one to have in the cupboard when the need arises.

Gas-Ezet    Gas-Eze which is also available in a bottle of 100 capsules contains Cayenne, Papain, Slippery Elm Bark, Caraway Seed, Ginger Root, and Catnip.  Cayenne increases the body’s ability to produce HCL which increases the body’s ability to digest anything in the stomach.  Papain is well known as a digestive aid. Slippery Elm has amazing healing and soothing properties.  Caraway seed is very useful for relieving gas.  Ginger treats the cramping caused by gas and Catnip relieves pain and prevents spasms.  My husband takes a couple of capsules when ever I cook anything with beans in it and he says it does a good job for him.

I talked about these in a previous blog, you can read it here.  Both Soothing Digestion and Gas-Eze are great ones to have on hand when you need them.

Do you need Gas-Eze or Soothing Digestion???

Gas Eze My answer to Do you need Gas-Eze or Soothing Digestion??? is that you need to have both formulas on hand. I bought the Gaz-Eze
or the first time a little over a year ago and it has just sat in my cupboard since then. A few weeks ago my son’s gut was suddenly quite painful and he said he thought it was gas. I got out the formula and said, here try some Gas-Eze. He said he would be fine and walked away, only to come back an hour later asking to try it. He took it, the problem settled down and he woke up fine in the morning. About the same time the next day my gut started hurting and after a few minutes of excruciating pain I took some Gas-Eze. It started to settle down after about fifteen minutes and I was fine within the hour. It must have been some weird bug. I can definitely say that Gas-Eze did what it was meant to do, eze the gas.
Soothing digestion Both Gas-Eze and Soothing Digestion contain one herb in common, Slippery Elm. Slippery Elm has always been well known as a great herb for intestinal issues. I like to use it if I am acidic or have diarrhea or if my stomach is just upset. The Slippery Elm and Licorice are a great little duo of herbs for healing anything from leaky gut syndrome, repairing the ravages of Candida and even ulcers. I like to keep the bulk powder on hand and mix it with water, 2 parts of Slippery Elm to 1 part Licorice. The Licorice makes it quite tasty, though I do not mind Slippery Elm alone, and if that is all you have it does a wonderful job. The capsules are handy to have when traveling or when you just don’t feel like slurping down the powdered herbs. I have found that it will correct an uncomfortable situation pretty quickly, and for more intense problems, taken throughout the day, usually by the next morning things are back to normal. For more sever problems such as leaky gut, ulcers and candida it needs to be taken for a longer period of time, but well worth the investment to clear up those issues.

You could down a whole bottle of the “pink stuff” and not get anywhere near the results of these great herbal formulas.
