   In the news again is the drug abuse problem with OxyContin. Over 190,000 people have died from this one medication alone. I have never filled a prescription for pain medication even though it has been prescribed after dental treatment and surgeries. I have had great success with herbal formulas which are not addictive, you don't need a presctiption and they are affordable.  We will talk about pain formulas from Western Botanicals in this week’s article.

Herbal Formulas for Children

My kids were fairly young when we totally switched over to using Dr. Christopher’s herbal formulas.  I wish that we had known sooner what we know now about taking care of ourselves naturally.  It is very empowering to be able to handle health situations at the time when things are happening. Are your kids going back to school with focus problems?

Sleep Problems

I have talked to quite a few people lately that suffer with sleep issues. It is important to your health to get a good night’s sleep, and having a natural sleep aid to use that does not have negative side effects is a plus. Are bug bites bugging you?

There are several great remedies available to help with bug bites and I have used all of them at one time or another. Plantain Ointment/Stings & Bites is a Dr. Christopher favorite. If you know what the plant looks like and you are having an issue with a bug bite, you can just pick some of the leaves, chew them and place them on the bite. It works well to draw out the poison that is causing the itching. Plantain is commonly seen in grassy areas. Learn what it looks like, it might come in handy someday! Note that we have a few jars of the old label Stings & Bites and then after that it will be back to Plantain Ointment.

Lavender essential oil is a well-known favorite for many  people and I find that it works well for mosquito bites and bee stings. I was recently stung by a bee and it really hurt. I put the Garden Essence Lavender oil on the area and it didn’t swell and the pain went away. Lavender is a great summer remedy for sunburn as well, making it a must have for every household.

I recently had some mosquito bites that weren’t responding to the Plantain Ointment or Lavender oil. I was asking friends for some other ideas because the bites were very bothersome. One of them came up with Dr. Christopher's Black Ointment so I decided to give it a try and it worked! Sweet relief!

Another essential oil that works on bites is one that helps deter them. I will add a few drops of Garden Essence Pest Away blend to lotion and put it on my exposed areas and it works pretty well at keeping them away. I’ve also used it directly on the bites and had them stop itching.

So there you have it, some great natural remedies to help you with this pesky problem!

Is eating whatever you want working for you?

This is a photo of a diabetic man’s foot, both feet look like this. He has lost the feeling in them, so isn’t in pain, but this is due to years of eating the wrong food throughout his life. His motto was "I'm gonna eat what I want, when I want, I only live once". This is what a lot of people say and do. Is it worth it??

 

I had a gal call the other day looking for some help with neuropathy in her feet. I told her what I would do, which is take the Nerve Reinforcement formula internally, along with using the Nerve Damage essential oil mixed into the Complete Tissue and Bone Massage Oil. I would also take the Complete Tissue and Bone Formula internally to aid in the healing.




I then asked her if she knew the reason why she has neuropathy in her feet and she said she is diabetic. I asked if she was using the Pancreas Formula an she said no. We talked about needing to treat the cause of the neuropathy so that she can have a successful healing. We talked about diet, which is what Dr. Christopher always did with his patients. Diet needs to change in order for the healing to happen. With diabetes you can’t mess around with eating sugar and grains that turn to sugar. I suggested looking up Paleo recipes to replace the grain foods. Almond flour and coconut flour make good pancakes, muffins, etc.  She ordered everything that we had talked about, and it is up to her to make the big change which is diet.

Adrenal Formula for travel, hayfever solutions

It’s that time of year again! If you are thinking travel, you are right. If you are thinking hayfever, you are right.

A friend posted the following on facebook:  “We are awake at 4 am because of the time difference, as are most tourists here. The streets and restaurants are bustling by 5 am and the sunrise cafe breakfasts on the beachfront are spectacular. @ Honolulu, Hawaii”

My husband and I have been to Hawaii three times and have never had this problem because we take Dr. Christopher's  Adrenal Formula on vacation. I use equal parts of lemon, lavender  and peppermint, I love the smell of the blend. The peppermint helps keep my nose clear and the other oils help with the symptoms. Two people have called in this week asking the dosage on Dr. Christopher’s bulk formulas. This is a great way to help your money to stretch. One 16 oz. bag of bulk powdered formula is equal to 15 bottles of herbs! The dosage on a bottle is usually 2 capsules, and 1/2 level teaspoon is equal to 2 capsules of “0” capsules. Add it to juice or water and drink it down! Some taste better than others, so if the taste is objectionable you can always capsulize it yourself. We sell a capsule machine and empty capsules in “0” and “00” sizes.
